Growing up, I wasn’t always very fond of reading books. Nor did I ever think I would take an interest in it. I always found myself very distracted or bored when trying to read different books as a child. However, I always liked the concept of storytelling and story writing. As I reached high school, certain required texts from my classroom put me in the situation of reading different books. The essays that were assigned along with these books came somewhat easy to me. I also realized during this time that I was very interested in argumentative writing, as I found enjoyment in expressing my opinion and the importance of the subject in matters with ample evidence and reasoning.
I am currently an English major with the goal of landing in an educational work environment. Before submitting my college applications, I did not know what I wanted my major to be. I realized I wanted to be an English major just before registering for the fall semester and I made this decision after looking back at my final English class in high school. Although it is ultimately my goal to become a high school English teacher, I am very open to the idea of maybe becoming a professional writer. Writing has become a very important aspect to me in my life, as it is a very important tool for the success of my future. My favorite aspect about writing is using my creativity to portray a message to others in my own way. I am growing as a writer and as I continue my time as a student, I intend to expand only my writing skills in hopes to expand my creativity to express myself to others and to be a successful writer currently and in the future to come!
