Trevor Brown

Trevor is a senior at Cal Poly Pomona, majoring in English Literary Studies. He is looking to earn a master’s degree in English after he graduates in the fall this year. As a first-time editor for a publication, he is excited to work with a team to publish the works of local writers. In his free time, Trevor likes to read, write, watch movies, rock climb, and spend time with friends and family. As of now, he is looking to climb outdoors for the first time and leave without any broken bones.
Wendy Mendoza

Wendy is in her final semester as an undergraduate before she graduates in Spring 2026. She’s an English Major with an emphasis in Literary Studies. Her goal is to go into the editing and publishing world in hopes of working with various authors and helping them reach their full potential with their books. This is her first time working on a publication and she is excited to gain all of the experience that she can. With her Mexican-American background, she hopes she can add more to Harvest that appeals to more students and others.
Outside of school activities, she enjoys reading for fun and finding new hobbies that help with being creative. She also enjoys spending time with her family.
The Team
Vennessa Chase

Vennessa is a 4th-year Literary Studies major at Cal Poly Pomona. She has had a deep passion for literature across different genres from a young age, and plans to pursue an MA in Education to instill a love for literature in the next generation of scholars. She recently became Vice President for CPP’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta and is excited for all that is planned for their Spring semester activities! Vennessa currently works as Production Coordinator and Analyst for a Pharmaceutical company in Pomona, where she specializes in procuring materials, streamlining procedures, and training new employees. Outside of her responsibilities at work and school, Vennessa enjoys creative writing and gaming.
Haylee Chavers

Haylee Chavers is an English literary studies major who will be graduating next spring. She has enjoyed reading since she was a child and her favorite genres are Fantasy, Dystopian, and Sci-Fi. In her downtime, she loves to explore new places and go to concerts and conventions with her friends. She also has a 5-year-old pug named Jimmy. Haylee is excited to be part of the spring Harvest team and grow as a writer and editor.
Sarah Elmeshi

Sara Elmeshi is a third year undergrad student here at CPP, who is majoring in English Education and a minor in Psychology. Her goal is to start off by becoming a high school teacher, while continuing her education where she will achieve a MA and her PHD to become a full-time child therapist.This is her first time being a part of a publishing team, and she hopes to add a little bit of her personality as well shedding light on current events throughout today’s world.
Beyond school activities, Sara is a part of the MSA (Muslim Student Association), as well as an after-school tutor for private school students, debate coach, and lastly a camp advisor during summers. She really enjoys being a part of the developing process of building today’s youth into aspiring, successful young adults.
Cheri Feyrer

Cheri Feyrer is a fourth-year English Literary Studies major with a passion for using writing as a medium for connecting to others. At Harvest International, her focus is submissions and copyediting. She hopes to earn her degree and continue into the fields of freelance writing and teaching. She enjoys dystopia, poetry, and fantasy, and she finds inspiration within the storytelling of folk musicians. Her free time is spent with her cats and loved ones, painting, or enjoying the garden with her mom. She is excited to encourage those around her to connect with others, themselves, and the natural world through their writing.
Sophia Madayag

Sophia Madayag is currently in her third year as an undergraduate and will graduate in Spring 2026 with her Bachelors in English Education. With the plan of being a professor, she will attend graduate school to work towards her masters followed by her PhD. While attending Cal Poly Pomona, she had an internship with the CPELI program in which she worked with college international students to improve their speaking and writing skills in English. As a member of Harvest International, she holds positions as lead of Advertising, Web Management, and Copyediting.
Outside of academics, Sophia enjoys going to Disneyland with her family on the weekends, exploring new cities with friends, and writing poetry relating to her personal life.
Aidan Pacillas

Aidan is a third-year student at Cal Poly Pomona majoring in English Education. With the goal of earning a bachelor’s degree, he hopes to become an English high school teacher or a writer after graduation. For Harvest International, he helps with printing and production of zines, as well as advertising. This is Aidan’s first experience with publication and he is looking forward to the journey ahead. Aidan has a passion for storywriting and storytelling as well as playing and writing music.
Chelsea Petersen

Chelsea Petersen is a 4th-year English major at Cal Poly Pomona in the Literary Studies option. She has a passion for the different mediums of writing, with an emphasis on politics, comedy, and cultural pieces. Her ambition is to become a screenwriter/creative writer and dabble in teaching as well. She believes in the importance of telling your story and strives to teach the younger generations to do so. As a member of Harvest International she is lead of Web Management and Advertising.Outside of her professional life, she has a passion for coffee, video games, and cinema. She’s also a little bit of a Gilmore Girls buff and can talk for an exponential amount of time about the many plotlines involved. She loves the arts and likes to try biting off more creative projects than she can chew.
Bella Rodriguez

Bella is in her Senior year at Cal Poly Pomona. A Latina English Major with a focus on Literary Studies, she’s been both an avid reader and writer since childhood. After her time here at Cal Poly, she plans to go to law school and become an attorney, specializing in Family Law. While here, she’s had an internship with Cafe Con Libros, a local nonprofit providing resources, a learning-friendly environment, and access to books to the local community, an experience which was part of her decision on future public service. Outside of the classroom, she loves to read recreationally and engage in creative writing, as well as staying active, especially in nature. She recommends we read folklore and fairytales– you never know what you’ll take with you from them, but it’s always something needed.
