Spring 2026 – Main Issue Open Call
Our final zine is all about New Beginnings. Excited about new job opportunities? Maybe a budding new relationship? Maybe you’ve gained new perspective in your life, what ever it is, we urge you to share for our upcoming and final zine of the 2025/2026 school year. The submission deadline is May 3, 2026. Refer to our submission guidelines to guide your piece.
Submission Guidelines
Submit up to 3 written and/or visual/multimedia works on any theme by Sunday, May 3rd @ 11:59 p.m. to be considered for publication.
- Poetry: 500 words max (may be in English or Spanish), Times New Roman or other easy-to-read 12pt font, formatted as appropriate for the piece (DOC/DOCX file)
- Short fiction: 1000 words max (may be in English or Spanish), Times New Roman or other easy-to-read 12pt font, double-spaced (DOC/DOCX file)
- Micro-fiction: 150 words max (may be in English or Spanish), Times New Roman or other easy-to-read 12pt font, double-spaced (DOC/DOCX file)
- Creative nonfiction: 1000 words max (may be in English or Spanish), Times New Roman or other easy-to-read 12pt font, double-spaced (DOC/DOCX file)
- One-act play/screenplay: 5-minute performance time max (may be in English or Spanish), Times New Roman or other easy-to-read 12pt font, include a brief synopsis (200 words max) and cast list including character names and descriptions, script format (DOC/DOCX file)
- Visual art (photography/digital art/physical art): black & white / greyscale / full color, must be in PDF or JPEG file format. Submissions within a 8x5in canvas size will be eligible for physical zine print; anything larger will be in our digital publication; a QR code for the file will be published in the physical zine instead.
- Video/Audio art: 60 second play time max, any spoken elements must be transcribed into a transcript (DOC/DOCX file) submitted with the piece, video/audio files may be in MP3, MP4, MOV, MJPEG, or MPG file format. A QR code will be published in the physical zine.
